PM KP Sharma gave a last tribute to former Speaker Damannath Dhungana

PM KP Sharma Oli laid the national flag over the lifeless remains of former Speaker Damannath Dhungana as a sign of respect. Today, the PM paid his last respects to Sano Gaucharan in the nearby Gyaneshwar. During the event, Prime Minister Oli characterized former Speaker Dhungana as a multifaceted individual with a distinct identity and set of values in Nepali parliamentary practice. He claimed that since the prior Speaker was successful in leaving a distinctive mark on the country’s legislative procedure, it is imperative to follow in his footsteps.

The Council of Ministers decided to bury the former Speaker’s remains with state honors at a meeting this morning. To pay their last respects to the former Speaker, who died on Sunday at Frontline Hospital in Baneshwar, the Deputy PM and other Council of Ministers members have also traveled to Sano Gaucharan. He was eighty-three and had been afflicted with a liver-related condition for a while.
