Pearson expands to Nepal with new PTE Test Centre in Chitwan

Pearson has expanded its Pearson Test of English (PTE) footprint in Nepal by launching a new Pearson VUE Test Centre Select (PVTC Select) in Chitwan. Operated by ACE Testing Hub, the 10-seat facility enhances the availability of PTE testing services in a key market for international education and migration.

The centre’s state-of-the-art identity verification and surveillance systems ensure high-security testing, a growing requirement for study and work visa applications. Prabhul Ravindran, Regional Director for South Asia at Pearson, highlighted the strategic expansion: “The new centre reflects our commitment to serving Nepal’s growing demand for reliable English assessment services.”

Nepal is a growing hub for international education seekers, with over 112,000 No Objection Certificates (NOCs) issued to students in 2023/24 for destinations like Japan, Canada, Australia, the UK, and the USA. Migration for work is also on the rise, with nearly 494,000 Nepali citizens moving abroad in 2023. This demand positions Nepal as a critical market for English proficiency assessments like the PTE. The PTE is accepted by over 3,500 universities globally and recognized by governments for visa processing and scholarships, including Australia Awards and Fulbright. Fast results within 48 hours add to its appeal.
