Nepal will give Myanmar disaster assistance

Food and other relief supplies will be sent by the Nepali government to the people affected by the recent earthquake in Myanmar. In cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, aid supplies such blankets, noodles, biscuits, and medications will be transported to Myanmar for emergency help. Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba also urged Nepal’s corporate sector organizations to supply humanitarian materials during a meeting on Monday at the ministry. According to Foreign Minister Deuba, the Nepali government will immediately dispatch relief supplies and humanitarian aid to help the beleaguered people of Myanmar.
At the conference, FNCCI President Chandra Prasad Dhakal, CNI President Rajesh Kumar Agrawal, and others announced that the private sector will institutionally supply aid materials. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs would gather and send the relief supplies to Myanmar as quickly as feasible, according to statements made by Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai, Home Secretary Gokarnamani Duwadi, and Finance Secretary Ghanshyam Upadhyaya during the meeting. Following the March 28 magnitude 7.7 earthquake that struck Myanmar and affected regions as far away as Thailand and China, more than 2,000 people have died in Myanmar.
