Nepal Tightens Digital Defenses with New Cybersecurity Plan

Nepal has unveiled its first national cybersecurity policy to address rising digital threats, including hacking, financial scams, and data theft. The move comes after several government websites were targeted earlier this year.

The policy includes setting up a national cyber emergency response team and stricter regulations for tech companies. Officials say this will strengthen both national and cross-border digital infrastructure.

The policy’s relevance extends to India, Bhutan, and Bangladesh, where cyber threats are increasing alongside digital growth, and regional cooperation could become a future focus.
