NEA supply energy for expressway work

Under the KTFT project, the NEA would supply energy through other agreements for the building of roads in Makawanpur’s Municipality-8, Municipality-3, and Sisneri Kogate regions. To guarantee that the expressway work is not impacted by the power outage, the NEA has already planned other plans. The building in that region will demand about 12 MW of power. The formerly operational 66 kV connection from Kulekhani First Hydropower Station, Dhorsing to Mandu would be put into service at 11 kV under the alternate electric supply arrangement. The required power supply for the fast-track project will be supplied by the 22.5 MVA power transformer that is currently in stock in Kathmandu. It will be transported to the Dhorsing Substation and installed there.
The project’s power was sent to Malta Substation in Lalitpur via a 33 kV line and to Dhorsing via a 66 kV transmission line. An 11 kV wire from the Malta Substation provided power to the KTFT road development. NEA Managing Director Kul Man Ghising inspected the Mandu Maltabensi region on-site after the Nepal Army reported that there was an issue with the expressway’s development since there was no power supply. The project’s rehabilitation is expected to be finished by the middle of April. Electricity will be supplied in accordance with the previous contract once the project is up and running.
