More than 6,000 passengers fly out of Gautam Buddha Airport
In February, flights from Gautam Buddha International Airport in Bhairahawa carried 6, 879 passengers. It is the nation’s second international airport. The general manager of Gautam Buddha International Airport, Pratap Babu Tiwari, reports that over 115 international planes have departed in February. Of these, 1,097 passengers flew with Thai AirAsia, 3,265 with Jazeera Airways, and 2,403 with Fly Dubai. According to the airport office, 14 chartered flights, including one operated by Nepal Airlines, carried 211 passengers.
The airport has served 4,040 transit passengers on flights operated by Nepal Airlines and Fly Dubai, which have connections to Tribhuvan. According to General Manager Tiwari, the airport has been bustling lately due to the frequent flights that have been using it.
