Miteri Bridge and other structures are being built
Construction of structures, including the Miteri Bridge at Rasuwagadhi, Nepal, has begun following the July 8 floods and landslides. The Department of Roads has also begun work on a Bailey bridge at Lhendekhola in Rasuwagadhi. The Friendship Bridge site is also under construction. The Chinese government has begun construction after floods in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa damaged the Miteri Bridge and the Syafrubesi-Rasuwagadhi road section, causing traffic to standstill. The floods and landslides also damaged the 25-kilometer road from Rasuwagadhi to Kerung. On July 17, during a courtesy meeting between Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song and Minister Devendra Dahal at the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport in Singha Durbar, Dahal conveyed this proposal to Ambassador Chen.
Ambassador Song brought the commute into action before to Dashain and pledged to replace and install a Bailey bridge in the location where one once existed. According to Rasuwa Chief District Officer Arjun Poudel, the Chinese side has advised that the construction of infrastructure, such as a Bailey bridge to replace the Miteri Bridge that was destroyed by landslides and floods, will be finished by August 15. China is acting quickly in accordance with its commitment, he said. Small vehicles, including buses, are now permitted to travel on the Syafrubesi-Rasuwagadhi road, but big vehicles are now being rerouted, according to Chief District Officer Poudel.
