Main route that connects southern Parbat is in worst condition

For years, residents of the southern Parbat district have been greatly inconvenienced by the poor state of the Mudikuwa-Jhakalaka-Lamya part of the main road that connects the four local levels. The blacktop has worn out, the road has many potholes, and the drain that was constructed on one side has collapsed. It becomes muddy during the rainy season and dirty during the winter, making travel challenging. For the past six years, this road has been in poor shape, and it hasn’t been fixed in years. Residents have complained that the condition has gotten worse as a result of renovations that were supposed to be completed in June or July being postponed until September or October.

The road’s many potholes and steep turns make collisions more likely. The road is in worse shape as a result of the local government’s disregard of the problem. Due to the state of the road, a motorist and local youth activists emphasized the possibility of accidents. Up to 15 accidents a year are reported on this specific road segment by the Parbat District Traffic Police Office. Sobha Kumari Chhetri, the DM of Phalewas Municipality, admitted the bad state and said she had brought up the matter several times, but nothing has been done. Gangadhar Tiwari, the mayor of Phalewas Municipality, said that work was being done on the road this fiscal year, with a budget of Rs. 120 million being requested for the project.
