Location of Muktinath will be developed as destination for religious tourism

The necessity of creating the Muktinath region as a comprehensive religious tourism destination has been emphasised by a number of stakeholders. Initiatives will be conducted to prolong the duration of visitors’ stays at the Muktinath temple, according to Chief District Officer Bishnu Prasad Bhusal. In order to further investigate the locations for the promotion of religious tourism, an 11-member delegation headed by CDO Bhusal visited the Muktinath area on Saturday.

He said that in order to link the Muktinath area with its three sacred heritages, a trekking trail should be built at a distance of roughly four kilometres. Additionally, he said that the Muktinath Development Committee and the locals would continue to build the trekking route. In order to connect alternative religious traditions with tourism, the team conducted an initial feasibility assessment.
