Local Artisans in Nepal Get Global Market Access via E-Commerce
Nepal’s Ministry of Industry has launched a digital portal to showcase and sell traditional handicrafts, aiming to support rural artisans and promote heritage crafts globally.
The platform—NepalCraftsHub—offers secure payment options and global shipping, targeting buyers from the USA, UK, and Europe. The project was developed in partnership with IT firms in Kathmandu and is backed by support from South Asia-based NGOs.
This opens a new trade avenue for artisans in neighboring regions of India and Bhutan as well, who are likely to explore cross-listing their products in future updates of the portal.
