Leaders travel to Pashupatinath Aryaghat to offer final respects after Leader Oli’s father was cremated
Mohan Prasad Oli, the father of CPN (UML) Chair KP Sharma Oli, was cremated at Pashupati Aryaghat following his death at the age of 97 at the Nepal Korea Friendship Municipal Hospital in Madhyapur Thimi, Bhaktapur. As the eldest son, Chair Oli performed the ritual of lighting his father’s funeral pyre.
Numerous prominent figures attended the cremation to pay their respects, including Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa, former Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal, and CPN (ML) General Secretary CP Mainali, among others. They gathered to honor the late Oli, demonstrating the significant impact he had on their lives and the political landscape of Nepal.
Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane expressed his condolences through social media, conveying his sorrow over the passing of Oli’s father and offering sympathy to the grieving family. This event marks a moment of mourning in the political community as they remember the elder Oli’s contributions and legacy.
