LCCI Global Qualifications Concludes Nepal-Scotland Student Exchange Programme
LCCI Global Qualifications has successfully concluded a three-week cultural and student mobility program in Nepal for business management students from Forth Valley College, marking another milestone in strengthening Nepal-UK academic collaboration.
The program, held from January 31 to February 17, aimed to deepen cultural understanding and enhance business knowledge through international exposure and shared learning. Designed to promote collaboration and exchange of best practices, the initiative brought Scottish students to key Nepali cities, including Kathmandu, Chitwan, and Pokhara.
The primary objective was to strengthen business acumen, soft skills, and cross-cultural understanding by providing hands-on training and practical insights into Nepal’s business environment. Most sessions were conducted through field visits and experiential learning activities, enabling students to study business models directly and interact with local enterprises.
Students from the Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) and Bachelor in Hospitality Management (BHM) programs at AITM College actively participated, ensuring collaborative engagement between Nepali and Scottish students. A key learning component involved understanding the “Early Genius” program, developed by LCCI Global Qualifications, which focuses on nurturing entrepreneurial and business capabilities at an early stage.
Throughout the three-week expedition, participants engaged in case study discussions, business site visits, and interactive sessions with Nepali entrepreneurs. Scottish students expressed admiration for the resilience and growth potential of Nepal’s small and medium enterprises (SMEs), gaining firsthand insight into how local businesses navigate challenges and opportunities in a developing economy.
Beyond business strategy, the program also emphasized soft skills such as teamwork, communication, adaptability, and leadership—competencies considered essential in today’s global professional landscape.
The closing ceremony brought together students from both countries to present reflections and summaries of their learning experiences. A cultural showcase, featuring performances by Nepali and Scottish students, stood out as a highlight of the event and was warmly received by attendees.
This marks the second batch of Forth Valley College students hosted by LCCI Global Qualifications in Nepal. The mobility initiative was supported by the UK Government’s Turing Scheme, which funds international study and exchange opportunities for UK students.
Diwas Yonzon, Head of Partnerships at LCCI Global Qualifications, said such programs play a vital role in strengthening people-to-people ties between Nepal and the United Kingdom. He noted that collaborations with additional UK institutions are underway to bring more students to Nepal for similar exchanges.
He added that cross-cultural learning experiences significantly enrich academic journeys, offering students broader global perspectives while fostering long-term institutional partnerships.
The successful completion of the program underscores the growing importance of international mobility in higher education and reflects Nepal’s expanding role as a destination for experiential and collaborative learning.
