KMC declares holiday in remembrance of former Mayor Singh’s passing
In remembrance of the passing of former Mayor PL Singh, the Kathmandu Metropolitan City has announced a mourning holiday today. At the age of 87, he died this morning while receiving treatment. In remembrance of former Mayor Singh’s demise, the KMC has chosen to shut down all non-essential services at the central office and all ward offices, according to KMC assistant spokesman Dhruba Kumar Kafle. As a result of his efforts, the Kathmandu Municipality was designated a metropolitan city in 2052 BS.
