Kathmandu Aims to Boost Post-Pandemic Travel Industry

Nepal will host an international tourism summit in Pokhara this November, bringing together officials, airlines, and tour operators from more than 30 countries. The summit will focus on adventure tourism, eco-tourism, and cultural heritage.

Authorities in Kathmandu hope the event will revive the tourism sector, which suffered badly during the pandemic. Special attention will be given to promoting Mount Everest treks, Lumbini pilgrimages, and Pokhara’s adventure sports.

For Nepali audiences, the summit signals economic recovery; for Indian media, it highlights cross-border tourism opportunities as many Indian travelers are expected to visit Nepal during the season.
