Jugadkhola Corridor Project has regain its speed in process
On both sides of the Jugadkhola River, which passes through Khalanga, work on the Jugadkhola Corridor has started. Project’s goal is to turn the dirty, trash-filled river into a pure, unspoiled body of water. Corridor project was started by the Chandannath Municipality to improve Jugadkhola’s aesthetics and environmental sustainability. The foundation stone for the corridor construction project was laid by the DM of Chandannath Municipality. Khadka asserts that the project will significantly contribute to the growth of the travel industry. The corridor’s tourism infrastructure is already being planned. According to Tek Bahadur Budhathapa, chief administrative officer, the corridor is a multi-year project, with an initial budget of Rs. 60 million set aside for the construction of a 3-kilometer section of the corridor during the current fiscal year.
A further Rs. 38 million has been set aside for the second phase, and construction is anticipated to start shortly, according to sub-engineer Chandra Bahadur Khadka. The Chandannath Municipality intends to construct rest areas along the corridor and install CCTV cameras and street lights. The project’s goal is to make morning walks easier. It is anticipated that this fiscal year will see the completion of a two-meter-wide pathway on both banks of the river that will run from the Water Consumer Committee Office to Malabhir in Chandannath-4. According to Raju Singh Kathayat, the mayor of Chandannath Municipality, the corridor project is a top priority for the community. Residents have already received letters from the municipality requesting that buildings in the designated area be removed.
