In the past nine months, Nepal exported tea valued at Rs 3.57b
Nepal’s tea sector exports reached Rs 3.57 billion in 2024/25, creating 60,000 jobs and 27 million kilograms of processed tea, with exports expected to reach Rs 4.5 billion. According to Puri, during the previous fiscal year, 16.5 million kg of tea valued at Rs 3.63 billion were exported. In the meanwhile, the Board has chosen to commemorate the 29th National Tea Day by holding a tea exhibition at Harihar Bhawan in Pulchowk today. The purpose of the show is to expand the market for Nepali tea internationally.
Puri stated that when tea produced in various regions of the nation is on display at one location, talks will take place between representatives of tea growers, workers, cooperatives, entrepreneurs, businesspeople, and concerned groups. ‘Healthy Tea, Sustainable Market, Foundation of Prosperous Nepal’ is this year’s National Tea Day theme.
