In July, visitor arrivals increased by 8.7%

According to the Nepal Tourism Board, foreign visitor arrivals to Nepal increased by 8.7% in July 2025. In comparison to the same month in 2024, when 64,598 tourists arrived, the number of foreign visitors increased by 7% to 70,913. In July 2019, this indicates a 99% recovery from pre-pandemic levels. Over 1.147 million tourists visited Nepal in 2024, representing a nearly 13.1% rise from the year before, contributing to the country’s notable increase in tourism since then. 1,014,882 international visitors came to Nepal in 2023, up from 1.19 million during the 2019–20 fiscal year. There have been 647,882 visitors since January 2025, with the biggest numbers coming in March 2025 and April, respectively.

It is anticipated that the overall number of visitors to Nepal since January 2025 would hit a record high. This year, Nepal saw 79,991 visitors in January, 96,880 in February, 86,216 in May, and 76,425 in June. This year’s July had the highest volume of Indian tourists visiting Nepal. In total, 27,152 tourists have visited Nepal from India, 6,890 from China, and 6,626 from the US. The number of tourists visiting Nepal increased significantly in July, with 38.7% of all visitors coming from India. 48% of all arrivals were from South Asia, with the Americas, Oceania, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Europe following.
