In Damauli, waiting hours for a jug of water

Acute water crisis in Damauli arises due to disruption in drinking water supply from Byas-4, causing residents of Byas-2 and 3 to wait long hours for water. Dev Gajmer, a user from Deuralinagar in Byas Municipality-3, reported that because of a disruption in the tap water supply, people have had to wait in line since the morning to get water from public wells and taps. A large number of individuals frequently struggle to get water in the late evening as there hasn’t been any water supply since Tuesday night.

According to him, up to 100 people were waiting in line to receive water on Wednesday night until 9:00 p.m. at the well and tap. Buddhi Man Shrestha, the chair of the Damauli Drinking Water and Sanitation Users Organization, said that a water supply issue arose following the removal of temporary drinking water pipes during the Muglin-Pokhara road’s extension.
