‘HPV’ vaccination doses to prevent cancer is now accessible in Nepal

With GAVI’s help, the Health Ministry and Population have imported HPV vaccinations that are used to prevent cervical cancer. 460,940 doses of the vaccination had been received according to Dr. Pawan Jung Rayamajhi. He stated that the vaccinations are now being stored in a chamber at Teku and would be distributed to the regions over time. To prevent teenage females from developing cancer at a young age, the government has announced a vaccine campaign that will begin on February 5. Dr. Abhiyan Gautam, the head of the Child Health and Vaccination Section, announced that 1,688,900 girls between the ages of 10 and 14 who are enrolled in class 6 and 10 and not in school would receive vaccinations as part of the 15-day campaign.
Being vaccinated against the potentially fatal disease is essential since human papillomavirus infection is the primary factor raising the risk of cervical cancer. Premature marriage, early childbirth, having several children, having intercourse with various people, having children at short intervals, heavy drinking and smoking, and neglecting genital cleanliness are all factors that contribute to human papilloma infection. In Nepal, breast cancer is the second most frequent malignancy among women, behind cervical cancer.
