Govt of Bagmati province is initiating an initiative to preserve arable land

In order to keep farmers from losing their property, the provincial government is implementing a strategy to protect agricultural land from erosion caused by rivers and streams, according to Bagmati Province Chief Minister Bahadur Singh Lama. While speaking at a program at Panchakanya Rural Municipality-4, Nuwakot district, on Friday, the Chief Minister disclosed this information. According to him, the plan’s goal is to restore and recover the land that rivers and rivulets have eroded to the point where it is no longer suitable for cultivation. According to him, the project, which has a budget of Rs 300 million, is being introduced as a model program in a few Bagmati provincial districts starting this year.

The scheme intends to preserve 28,000 ropanis of land devastated by the Likhu and Tandi rivulets, and it will begin as a model in Nuwakot. According to Chief Minister Tamang, the area beside rivers and streams would be reclaimed and prepared for farming. He continued by saying that infrastructure, such as irrigation, would greatly boost the amount of agricultural output from such reclaimed area.
