Fugitive arrested in Rs 41.7 million foreign employment scam
Agency: The Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office has arrested a man who had been on the run for more than a year in connection with a large-scale foreign employment fraud.
The accused, Trilok Singh (29), director of N.A.N. Maritime Training and Agency Pvt. Ltd., was apprehended in Kaski’s Pokhara Metropolitan City-27 on August 12 following a special tip-off. Police coordinated with the Area Police Office to locate and detain Singh, who had allegedly been hiding in Kaski since the case was filed.
Originally from Bajhang and currently residing in Budhanilkantha Municipality-9, Kathmandu, Singh among others is accused of defrauding 66 victims of a total Rs 4,17,93,280. The victims, including Dambar Deuba, had filed a complaint naming Singh and others involved in the scheme.
The case has been handed over to the Department of Foreign Employment in Tahachal, Kathmandu, for further legal action.
