Foreign Minister Khanal to go to Mauritius
Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal is scheduled to visit Mauritius. This is Khanal’s first foreign visit since being appointed as Foreign Minister. He is going to Mauritius to participate in the 9th Western Indian Ocean Conference, which will be held in Mauritius on the 27th and 28th of Chaitra. The conference is being organized by the India Foundation, a think tank in Delhi, with the assistance of the Government of Mauritius and the Indian Ministry of External Affairs. Ministers from various countries, including India’s Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar, are also set to attend the conference. Minister Khanal is scheduled to hold talks with his Indian counterpart Jaishankar.
Foreign Ministers Khalilur Rahman of Bangladesh, Wijith Herath of Sri Lanka, D.N. Dhungel of Bhutan, Badr Hamad Al Busaidi of Oman, and Barry Faure of Seychelles are also participating in the conference. Nepal has also been participating in this conference organized by the India Foundation. At the eighth conference held in Muscat last February, the then Foreign Minister Arju Rana Deuba had participated.
