Flood destroys the diversion of the Binayi River and blocks the East-West Highway
Traffic delays and flooding of a Binayi River diversion resulted from significant rainfall in Binayi Triveni Rural Municipality, which closed the Narayangadh-Butwal section of the East-West Highway. Due to the river’s sixth disruption, high water currents have made it challenging to fix a diversion at Dumkibas, Nepal. Through Hongshi Cement gate, passenger buses and small cars make their way to Sardi-Dumkibas market, while freight vehicles are stopped. Near Daunne, the muddy uphill portion is one of the difficulties.
Arun Khola, Dumkibas, and Hongshi Gate have about 200 cars parked in a queue, with the majority of them stopped, Madhu Nepal said. As a result of this circumstance, hundreds of drivers and passengers have faced serious issues. The new permanent concrete bridge that is being built at Daunne is anticipated to open on July 28. The Narayanghat-Butwal Road Project’s information officer, Shiva Khanal, stated that traffic will be permitted on the bridge 28 days following the last concrete pour on June 6.
