Exhibition of Bagmati Provincial Fine Art opens

Monday marked the opening of the Bagmati Provincial Fine Art Exhibition 2081 at NAFA in Kathmandu. In order to promote local artists and their work, the academy organized a five-day art show in Bagmati Province after finishing exhibitions in other provinces. A previous NAFA Chancellor commended the exhibitions done in several provinces and opened the event. He made a comparison between artists and farmers in his speech, saying that artists need to understand their homeland in order to produce meaningful art, just as farmers need to understand the soil in order to grow crops. The NAFA Chancellor emphasized that the show, which was organized with the fundamental goal of using fine arts to reform society, will help the industry in Bagmati Province flourish. He emphasized the need for additional fine arts research in Bagmati, a region with a strong artistic legacy.

A number of artists who have made substantial contributions to Nepal’s fine arts industry were honored during the ceremony. Bhola Poudyal, Sharda Man Shrestha, Sushma Rajbhandari, Sunita Rana, Dharma Bahadur Tamang, Sarita Dangol, and Julum Lal Chitrakar are a few of these. The academy’s peer-reviewed research magazine, “Lalitkala Pragya,” was also introduced during the event. The exhibition, which runs through March 14, features 239 pieces of art created by 207 artists across the province. The show features a wide variety of artworks, including as folk art, architecture, handicrafts, modern and traditional painting and sculpture, and other creative arts.
