Due to mechanical difficulties, a Summit Air aircraft traveling from Kathmandu to Lukla had to make an emergency landing at Tribhuvan International Airport this morning. According to TIA spokeswoman Rinzi Sherpa, the pilot decided to make an emergency landing at TIA after some technical problems were reported with the aircraft when it was operating in the Phaplu area. This morning at 7:24, the plane safely touched down at TIA. A technical team is now attempting to resolve the problems. 19 persons, including the pilot and crew, were on board the aircraft, according to the TIA Office, and they were all safe.
