Death toll from Gen Z Protests rises to 51
Agency: The nationwide Gen Z demonstrations have claimed 51 lives so far, according to Nepal Police.
Nepal Police spokesperson DIG Binod Ghimire said that among the deceased: 21 were protesters, three were police personnel, nine were inmates, 18 were others, and one was an Indian woman.
Earlier, Dr. Bikas Devkota, Secretary at the Ministry of Health and Population, reported that 284 people are currently undergoing treatment at 52 different hospitals across the country. He also stated that over 1,771 injured individuals have been treated and discharged.
The protests, which began earlier this week, turned violent after police firing left 19 protesters dead.
