Chitwan’s output of rice declines

According to the Agriculture Development Office, Chitwan’s rice crop this year is lower than it was last year. This year, the district produced 112,092.48 metric tons of rice. Last year, the district produced 114,269.4 metric tons of rice.This year, 27,270 hectares of land were used for rice cultivation. According to the Office, this year’s productivity has also declined. 4.12 metric tons per acre is the productivity.
The Office claims that in certain areas of east Chitwan, insect infestation and plant diseases such filthy pinnacle, rice leaf folder, and pinnacle blight are to blame for the decline in productivity.In Chitwan, the following rice varieties are cultivated: Chaite 5, Sabitri, Bar, Bahuguni 2, Hardinath 1, Hardinath 6, Piyare, Sawa Mansuli, Moti, Gorakhnath, Jiramasino, and Ram.
