Beijing becoming good market for Nepali tea

The Gorkha Tea Estate in Phikka, which is registered with the General Administration of Customs in China, has been exporting orthodox tea. There has been a rising call in Darjeeling to put an import tariff on tea from Nepal. In the future, China may prove to be a significant market for Nepali tea.
In the four months leading up to mid-November of current fiscal year, Nepal shipped 2,587 kg of black and green tea to China, according to the Customs Department. A producer can use a single-window electronic system to apply for GACC registration, according to the General Administration of Customs of China. The applicant must complete the application, pay the $980 fee, and begin exporting as soon as it is approved. For five years, the GACC registration is in effect. Through their relationships, Nepali tea traders have been exporting tea to China for the past 1.5 years. In other nations, the demand for Nepali CTC tea has been increasing. For CTC tea, the tea board has been creating a quality trademark.
