Another case of Mpox has been verified in Nepal
There has been another verified incidence of monkey pox (Mpox) in the nation. According to Dr. Prakash Budhathoki, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, a 44-year-old man who returned from Saudi Arabia tested positive for the infection. He informed the RSS that more information about the illness will be released shortly.
A 36-year-old Tahanu man was identified as having the Mpox infection on December 20. He is a Saudi Arabian returnee as well. On June 16, 2023, the first infection case was reported in Nepal. A foreign national was proven to have the illness. It is brought on by a virus known as monkeypox, which can spread from person to person or from animal to person.
Contact with sick people or animals is how this disease is spread. Direct contact with wounds, lesions, or body fluids like mucus or saliva, as well as with virus-contaminated surfaces and materials, can all result in transmission. The virus can also be spread by infected animals, such as rats, squirrels, monkeys, and tainted clothing or bedding.
