An open letter to Gagan Thapa

My name is Dipanshu Joshi, and I am a Nepali youth currently pursuing my studies in the United States at St. Cloud State University. I am writing to you not only as a concerned young Nepali but also as someone who has been inspired by your words and leadership.

First, I would like to congratulate you sincerely on your appointment as President of the Nepali Congress through the Special Convention. This is a major responsibility, and for many young Nepalis like me, seeing you take on this role has renewed hope and belief in accountable leadership.

For a long time, the youth’s trust in politics has been dwindling. Yet your leadership reminds us why we once believed in political integrity. You have consistently considered the voice of young people and acknowledged the challenges Nepal faces. That recognition matters deeply to a generation that often feels overlooked.

I still recall your visit to LRI School, where you spoke about accountability, trusting young people, and building a prosperous Nepal. Those words left a lasting impression. I urge you to continue listening to the hopes and frustrations of Nepali youth, prioritize integrity over power, and work toward long-term progress. With leaders like you, there is still hope for a better Nepal.
