An earthquake of magnitude 4.8 struck northern Nepal

The NSRC reports that the quake reached its epicentre in the Sindhupalchowk district, 70 km north of Kathmandu, at 1:02 pm. People in Kathmandu, the country’s capital, and other regions experienced tremors Thursday due to an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.8 that was reported in northern Nepal.
According to the National Seismological Research Centre (NSRC), the epicentre of the earthquake, which was reported at 1:02 pm, is situated in the Sindhupalchowk district, 70 km north of Kathmandu. Although there were instant reports of no damage from the earthquake, many in Kathmandu and the surrounding areas felt the shakes.
According to NSRC statistics, this was the ninth quake exceeding magnitude 3 to be recorded in Nepal, with eight of those occurrences taking place in Western Nepal in the last 20 days. According to analysts, the likelihood of larger earthquakes in western Nepal has increased recently.
