A reliable power source is necessary for Morang Chamber
CIM demands regular electricity supply in industrial corridors, highlighting power disruptions in Sunsari-Morang, Biratnagar-Rani, and Biratnagar-Katahari for eight to 10 hours daily. The CIM urges the NEA to be sensitive to power cuts disrupting industries, causing daily financial losses and expressing regret over the lack of a long-term solution. According to CIM President Rakesh Surana, the NEA’s propensity to downplay business and industry issues has repressed the private sector. Even though it was anticipated that the NEA’s new leadership would prioritize consistent supply and quality enhancement of energy, Surana stated the agency showed little interest in this matter and instead concentrated on profit and loss, which further impacted the business and industry.
He asserted that the commercial and industrial sectors are experiencing a double-edged impact from the dry season’s increased electricity bills and lack of a consistent supply of electricity. He has urged the NEA to create a long-term solution for electricity supply and establish regular supply in view of the difficulties that the business and industrial sectors face due to the sporadic supply of electricity during the dry season and the negative consequences that this has had on the value chain of the entire industrial sector.
