A local’s house and shed are destroyed when a forest fire spreads

A forest fire destroyed a house and shed in Palpa, killing Dil Bahadur Saru and engulfing a cow, buffalo, and 20 goats. The fire destroyed the house’s contents, including food grains, utensils, clothing, Rs. 30,000 in cash, and 1.5 tons of jewelry, according to Police Inspector Kamal Pradhan of the District Police Office in Palpa. Damage from the incident is estimated to have exceeded 2.5 million rupees. After a strong wind, the fire that started in the woodland close to the house spread to the community.
The police station in Keladi, Sagara, reports that the fire started in a thatched shed before spreading to a straw-and-zinc house. Only in the evening, thanks to the efforts of the locals, was the fire contained. The family of the victim is currently staying at a neighbor’s home.
