Nepali Brands to Gain Global Recognition Through Superbrands

Superbrands, the globally recognised independent authority on branding, has formally launched Superbrands Nepal to identify, recognise and celebrate brands that demonstrate exceptional trust, quality, relevance, performance and consumer recognition. The launch was marked by a cocktail evening hosted by The Himalayan Times, the local contact for Superbrands Nepal, at Aloft Kathmandu Thamel, bringing together business leaders, brand custodians and members of the newly formed Superbrands Nepal Council. The council will independently evaluate brands based on established Superbrands criteria, helping ensure credibility and integrity in the selection process. Shariful Islam, Founder and Managing Director of Bangladesh Brand Forum and Chairman of Superbrands Bangladesh, introduced guests to the programme’s philosophy, international presence and selection methodology. He said the initiative goes beyond recognition by capturing and sharing the strategies and stories behind successful brands. A message from Superbrands Ltd. CEO and Chairman Stephen P. Smith highlighted Nepal’s strong brand heritage, creativity and entrepreneurial potential. Established in the UK in 1992, Superbrands now operates internationally, recognising outstanding brands across markets. The Nepal programme will next focus on evaluating and selecting leading brands while creating a platform for sharing knowledge and insights. It aims to celebrate established Nepali brands and support emerging businesses seeking to build trust, raise standards and compete globally.
