TRC Act regulations will soon be developed
The Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs is set to draft a Regulation under the Transitional Justice Act, despite receiving office-bearers for the Transitional Justice Commission (TRC) and the Central Institute of Employment and Development (CIEDP). The government is committed to completing the transitional justice process. Already in effect is the Commission for Investigation of Disappeared Persons Truth and Reconciliation Commission Act, 2081. Both commissions’ officials have begun to carry out their duties. According to Minister Chaurasiya, drafts of the rule that will be developed in accordance with the Act’s modifications are now being produced.
The Commission for Investigation of Disappeared Persons, Truth Reconciliation Commission Act, 2081, Legislation Act, 2081, and District Court Rules, 2081 were developed and released by the Ministry of Law during the fiscal year 2081–1982. Theoretically, the ministry has agreed with the concept notes of 19 legislation from different ministries, with the drafts of 17 bills, and with the revision of 13 laws. It has offered consensus on the drafts of thirteen new rules, twenty-three existing regulations, and six ordinances.
