18 families relocated to a safer location after a landslide at Tilgaun

18 homes in Tilgaun, Namkha Rural Municipality-6, Humla district, that were in danger of a dry landslide have been moved to a safer location. Shailendra Thapa, the Armed Forces’ DSP and Co-Spokesperson, reported that a dry landslide that originated north of Tilgaun destroyed nearby residents’ homes. Along with the required supplies for shelter and disaster relief, security personnel from the Armed Police Force Nepal Border Outpost Hilsa have been sent to the area.
Because of the water-filled debris in the landslide, it is believed that there is a glacial lake above Tilgaun, even if the reason of the landslide has not yet been determined. To find out if there is a glacier lake at the suspected location, observations are being undertaken. The landslide has not injured any people or animals.
